that bloody south african referee...
I couldn't believe that guy...Blowing up for scrummage transgressions that were not englands doing...James has been directing streams of invective at Andre' Watson since the game..
But is this true?- an arcticle on an english site kind of puts the balance back into things-

Havn't posted for some time. Have been busy in the run up to christmas sorting out the myriad of little year end things that people need doing to their systems and installations.
Also been involved in the set up and prep for SHATTERED.
Was interested to read about Real Networks suite against microsoft.
Anyone stupid enough to install that spam and spyware onto their computer knows that real sucks.
In fact I would say that the decline of real network's revenues are not related as much to microsofts "predatory practices" as they contend but to people actually waking up to how invasive reals software installer is...further some company networks actually ban real from the desktop- a very good move in my opinion, unfortunately NOT at the BBC where they still use this sub standard encoding and streaming format. Real was once the only kid on the block, and realproducer everymans way of pushing out postage stamp sized porn on the net. But let's face it - will I shed any tears for realnetworks no they SUCK...

this is just one of my favourite pics. Taken at cave rock SA. you can see the water sucking back over the reef in the foreground just behind the surfers, teh dolfins surfing and a sublime day of waves on one of africa's most hardcore reefbreaks

I love the met office website. Not only does it provide one of the best marine resources in the UK for weather prediction and forcasting (ie so I know when there are going to be waves) bit is also is a mine of fantastic information. When I first came to the UK I listened in facination to the shipping forcast, wondering where the areas with funny names were.
You can find out all about them here.Met Office: Revised shipping forecast areas

I love TV go home - written by the guardian newspapers' charlie brooker (of screenburn fame) it is a caustic and hilarious piss take of telly programme guides, and indeed the only one to include a fly on the wall documentary segment called "Cunt" - not for the prudish, TV Go Home

As a South African I always keep an eye on what is happening there - Lin Sampson is a great southern african commentator, and what you don't get from this arcticle is the history of sexual repression that has alway plagued the rightwing - or do you? - you just couldn't make this up Sunday Times - South Africa's best selling newspaper

Drove back and reflected on the weekend. Those were the biggest waves I have had in 10 years- not that it doesn't get like that often, it is just that I dont get the time- 1.5 to 2 x overhead is serious surf. There were quite a few folks in the water and waves enough for everyone - it was just pouring through set after set after set.
thanks to my wife who gave me the nod to chase my obsession...the quest for waves.

Drove down after inexcusably leaving work early. Amped for some surf. arrived after dark and walked down to the beach. There was the unmistakeable roar of hundreds of tons of water dumping onto the beach bigtime . tried to get a signal from where I was parked but under a hill in Ndevon and no go. turned in for bed it was after 11 and I was still seeing the highway in my mind
this am dawned VERY VERY COLD BUT COOKING. killer south easterly winds blowing back huge plumes of spray into your face as you paddle your heart out to pull into a beast.
had a couple of well, well double overhead waves today. Not nearly as big as yesterday but I was cramping very badly from the cold. the campervan is like a fridge and I am hoping for a classic sunday morning session. I have never felt closer to God than in the big moving ocean early in the morning . I will post some pics later but this had some news but page prob outdated nowA daily surfcam on the surf at Croyde Bay
